Following the launch of Ely’s Escape Room's, Oliver Cromwell’s House is pleased to announce the reopening of 'The Curious Case of Curator Chadwick' from 22nd May 2021.
Here's a snippet about the plot! It's 1910 and the Vicar of St. Mary's Church has rented the Tithe Room out of the Vicarage to his dear friend, Curator Cornelius Chadwick. After a few weeks, he mysteriously disappears! Come and search for clues, solve the puzzles and discover the whereabouts of the enigmatic Curator.
Sessions are priced at £95 per group. Sessions are suitable for groups of 4 - 6. To find out more then please click on the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). A Junior Escape Room Challenge - aimed at 10-13 yr olds!
What better way to Escape the Boredom of the School Holidays?: Make memories, have fun and keep those brains active during the break!
Up to 8 players are allowed - parent must remain on premises. Sessions are £95 and will be running every Thursday throughout the Summer! Can the younger audience do better than the adults ? Now there's a challenge.....
The Celestial Meddler - a sinister time-travelling magician!
Based on the Escape Room principle, this activity is designed to accommodate between 20 and 40 people and provides a unique journey through history in a thrilling adventure. Your group will be divided into four teams and then they will be pitched against one another with the task of completing a series of puzzles in the quickest time. Each team will have to visit four rooms within Oliver Cromwell’s House and work out the puzzles that when put together, will give you your ultimate answer. Your challenge is to complete the assignment before any of the other teams.
Complete with an awards ceremony at the end, this fun activity takes approximately 90 minutes and is priced at £25 per person. The event can be undertaken after 5.30 pm on a day of your choice, subject to availability.

GUIDED CITY WALKS THROUGH ELY
Join our City trained, historical guides as they take you on a walk through Ely's medieval streets, learning much about how and what makes Ely the most amazing City it is today! Free of Charge, choose your date and meet outside Oliver Cromwell's House! Walks take around 90 mins and cover 1.5 miles
COSTUMED GUIDED TOUR OF OLIVER CROMWELL'S HOUSE
Join our guides, in costume, for a tour of the house where Oliver Cromwell and his family once lived. Discover how the family lived, what they ate and how they celebrated Christmas (or did they?) Free of charge, one opportunity only, so book ahead. The tour lasts one hour.
HERITAGE OPEN DAY - MONASTIC BARN
Courtesy of King's School, just once a year to celebrate the national event to celebrate heritage! Discover Ely's Monastic Barn. Find out what it was used for over the centuries, and what happens there today! Please book to avoid missing out, time slots available every half hour 2-4 pm
HERITAGE OPEN DAY - SILVER STREET MEDIEVAL COTTAGES
A truly wonderful, unique experience and it's the first year open since pre-pandemic! Come and discover the inside of No 9 Silver Street. A glorious 14th Century timber cottage, meet Steuart Northfield who resides there and glory at the incredible wall paintings, a fine way to wrap up our Heritage Programme for Ely.
